Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread popularity in the first decade of the 21st century. Swift discovered a love for the arts at a very young age and she progressed quickly from roles in theatre for children and her first public appearance in front of an audience of tens of thousands. At the age of 11, she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game and the following year she picked up the guitar and began writing songs. Swift became inspired to write her own material by country music artists category, like Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. At the age of 13, Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania in order to relocate towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could devote more of her time to wooing labels from the country within the vicinity of Nashville.
